An Independent Expert Panel reviewed a proposal to spread the water demand over a larger area of the valley through an Aquifer Balance Project.

This project would disperse high-discharge wells to other areas of the valley to reduce localized groundwater withdrawal.

It was stated that the Aquifer Balance Project could be a fairly quick fix to areas of significant groundwater withdrawal. From a geologic standpoint it is good because the demand is spread over a larger area; however, it doesn’t increase the water supply in the Cedar Valley. -Dan Aubrey & Russell Barrus
